Hectic couple of days back in LA. Finally everything squared away. On to the flight and back to blighty for Deric's funeral (my Uncle) in God's country, Wales.
What an amazing place.
I think Deric would have enjoyed his funeral service. A great attendance from his pals and family. The service started with a Matt Munro track, the one used in the original 'Italian Job', and ended with a Glen Miller number. Then it was back to his real home, the Aberdovey golf course. This was a special place for Deric and his wife Dilys. Especially considering he landed a number of 'hole in ones there.
The view from the crematorium was beautiful.
Considering the circumstances it was a lovely event. Next few days spent clearuing out teh house and sorting out the will.
I did find time to drag Julia out on a walk with me. Alas Julia decided not to bring all her hiking gear. Unfortunately it started to rain and in Wales thate means...
Mum took us all out for lunch at the Tyn y Cornel, which overlooks one of my favourite houses. Perhaps one day Julia and I will live there overlooking the lake and in teh shadow of Cadar.
Cadar Idris. The mountain on which I propsed to Julia. He first comment was 'are you joking?' Nice eh.
Then back to London where I managed to arrange a visit to HMP Pentonvile. A Cat 'B' prison. So thank you all who helped arrange this.
Julia and I went out for supper with Carole and Iain. Who had just bought a new house in Balham. In addition they announced that Carole is pregnant. Yeeehhaaaa! Great news. Think secretly Julia and I are very jealous.
Popped in to see the lads at Substance. How the empire grows! Tons of work on their books and a growing staff. Colin kindly modeled for some story boards I was working on. Colin your next stop must be the front page of GQ!

Sorry to hear about your uncle, and sorry to miss you while you were here.
Can we come and visit when you're living in the house under Cadar. I will help you sail your little boat on the lake in Summer.
I think the best proposals are the ones that have unconventional answers. Mine was, "Yes, but you have to ask me again when I'm not wearing sweaty yoga gear and covered in cleaning products."
