Off to Arizona

OK, up at 5.00am. Everyone groggy headed, but exciting to be heading out of the concrete. Crammed the car full of camping equipment and food. Away at 6.00am and out onto the freeway.

Sun crept up as we left LA and headed out towards Las Vegas. Took a right towards Arizona.

Passed the Needles and then onwards to Arizona.

Stopping for a nutritious lunch washed down with healthy beverages.

OK so I am now a criminal. We were happily cruising along listening to the Rolling Stone at full volume when I noticed a black and white in the rear view mirror. With lights flashing I was pulled over by one of Arizona's finest. $190 dollar fine and my first ever ticket.

Finally arriving at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Wow!

It is freezing here. Snow still lingers on the canyon walls and the wind rockets through your clothes.

Supper round the camp fire eating hot marshmallows and smoking cigars, mild n'wild. Sounds romantic, except everyone was absolutely baltic! Dived into the tents to keep warm.
