Sloan Foundation Scholarship

Well I am totally shocked - have been awarded a Sloan Foundation Scholarship which covers the tuition costs for the first year at the AFI! Found out late afternoon so had to wait until evening to let Julia know. So pleased as the decision to come here has really put a heavy financial burden on Julia and I.

So what happened today. Morning session on location scouting with representatives from City of Glendale, Film LA, LA Fire, County Fire, The California Film Commission, a location manager and a production designer. Very useful talk. There is certainly a fair amount of paperwork to navigate through in order to Film in LA! Again Sophie wasn't at the class which was a shame.

Afternoon talk on script supervising and 'crossing the line.' Shocked that an MA course in Film feels the necessity to teach this, even more surprising on how many people were unsure about it! Oh a great line for a script supervisor 'Yes we have all the pieces'

Evening watched the 'Coal Miner's Daughter' which Tom Rickman was nominated for an oscar. Great film.
